About AFRI-SOVE

Africa's collective voice in vector ecology

AFRI-SOVE is a professional scientific network connecting researchers, scientists, academics, public health professionals, institutions, NGOs, government agencies, students and stakeholders working in vector ecology and related disciplines across Africa.

Mission

To advance vector ecology research, training and policy across Africa through collaboration, innovation and scientific excellence.

Vision

A united African scientific community leading global efforts to understand, monitor and control vector-borne diseases.

Objectives

Strengthen networks, build capacity, drive research, translate evidence into policy and elevate African vector science globally.

Who we are

We are entomologists, ecologists, public health specialists, epidemiologists, students and policy actors. Our members work across universities, ministries, research institutes and NGOs to understand vectors and reduce the diseases they transmit.

Why AFRI-SOVE exists

Africa carries a disproportionate burden of vector-borne disease. Solving it requires African leadership, African data and African collaboration. AFRI-SOVE gives that work a shared home, a shared standard and a shared voice.
